For the last two decades, Somalia has been a failed state due civil war, leading to complete destruction of political and social economic infrastructure, un-reconcilable clan rivalry and animosity, human displacements as refugees, looting of national resources, creation of “lost generation” of those born within this period, Environmental degradation, extreme poverty, piracy and other international challenges and clan based cessation of regions into autonomous enclaves.

A lot of humanitarian interventions have been carried out by UN and NGO’s. These Interventions were being carried out from Nairobi-Kenya and faced serious challenges in terms of effectively reaching the needy. The local NGO’s on the ground were sucked into clan animosities and suffered from serious mismanagement, leading to lack of trust by beneficiaries/the needy.

In the recent past positive development have been, recorded through more focused international initiatives in reconstruction of Somalia, a more acceptable and a reliable government has been established, and large investment desire shown; Motivated by these positive developments, a group of Somalis from diverse professional backgrounds and their international friends formed (MSDO). Matan is a Somali word whose meanings include Twins, trace, and pursuit of sustainable Solutions. MSDO is therefore formed to fill and satisfy the following need gaps:-

•  Support new government objectives
• Harness and manage well, corporate social responsibility resource Contribution
• Redeem the lost trust in humanitarian activities & NGO’
• Open up to regions previously un-penetratable
• Build reconciliation and social cohesion among the clans.
• Document experiences of failed state & benefits of peace and well planned Reconstruction as reference for International community.
•  Rehabilitate the lives of the “lost generation” and recovery of lost universal Human dignity of all sectors of society based on the well document International human rights.
